Espacio Micus blends art, nature, and creativity. Located near the picturesque village of Jesús, this cultural space was created by German painter Eduard Micus in 1972 when he acquired an old country house ruin and transformed it into his home and art studio. Today, Espacio Micus is one of the main gathering spots for artists in Ibiza, offering contemporary art exhibitions that combine art with nature. Regular exhibitions allow visitors to discover the works of Eduard Micus, as well as those of local and international artists.
Located in the tranquil lands near the picturesque village of Jesús, Espacio Micus is much more than an art gallery; it is a living work of art, a testament to the love of nature and creativity. This unique space was designed by Eduard Micus for his artwork, the German painter who, in 1972, purchased what was then a ruin of an old country house and lived there with his wife. Upstairs, he had his studio where he worked. From the very beginning, the property began to transform into something more than just a home: a sanctuary of inspiration, connection with the surroundings, and, of course, art.

Micus, who dedicated his life to painting, found in this place not only a space for his work but also a way to live in harmony with nature and local traditions. He learned to collect rainwater and integrate into the island’s community, whose inhabitants, in turn, witnessed the development of his work and the space, which over time became this unique place.
After his death in 2000, Eduard’s daughter, Katja Micus, took up her father’s legacy and continued with his vision for this unique space. Since then, at Katja’s initiative, Espacio Micus has become a gathering place for artists from various disciplines. Painters, sculptors, photographers, and other creators have the opportunity to exhibit their works in this special place, where light and space are essential elements in the artistic experience.

The design of the space, both indoors and outdoors, is an artwork in itself, respectful of the environment and the Mediterranean climate. Eduard Micus designed the space for his art, maximizing wall surfaces, and the windows open only where necessary or where there is a connection to the surroundings. His large windows and strategic openings allow natural light to filter in uniquely, and the play of shadows that transforms each corner throughout the day ensures the space perfectly integrates with the landscape. The light not only illuminates the works on display but also interacts with them, creating a changing atmosphere that reflects the passage of time and the seasons. All of this contributes to making every visit to Espacio Micus a sensory experience deeply connected to the surrounding environment.
In addition, Espacio Micus is nestled in a green area that invites exploration. With beautiful corners and outdoor works, visitors can enjoy not only the exhibitions inside but also a walk through the garden, where art blends with nature. These outdoor spaces become another point of interest for those visiting the place, creating synergy between art, landscape, and the Mediterranean climate.

Espacio Micus is open to the public on Sundays, offering the opportunity to discover not only parts of Eduard Micus’s work but also a variety of temporary exhibitions. Every Sunday, visitors can enjoy a unique tour, where the artist's pieces are combined with new proposals from local and international artists, creating an atmosphere of constant renewal and artistic dialogue.
Today, Espacio Micus is a vibrant and leading place, full of life and creativity, where art and nature come together to offer unforgettable experiences. Each exhibition is an invitation to explore different forms of artistic expression and immerse oneself in the history of a place that, in itself, is a masterpiece in constant evolution.
